COMPETITIONS

 

For the purposes of these rules, the word “film” is taken to mean a film, video-tape or DVD based motion picture.

 

1. NOVICES’ CUP:  For any  film where the entrant has not previously won a club competition

2. NASH-ROBINSON CUP: For a film which is a record of the entrant’s holiday

3. TOM WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CUP: For any fictional story film

4. DOCUMENTARY CUP: For a non-fiction film which sets out to educate,instruct or inform

5. THREE MINUTE FILM TROPHY: For a film having a duration of not more then three minutes

6: THE MAURICE RUNCORN MEMORIAL PLATE:  For a film set to music which has a duration of not more than five minutes

7: THE NOWELL TROPHY: For any film of not more than ten minutes duration

8: THE BOB TINSDALE CUP: For the best film of the year

9: THE ARTHUR DAKIN MEMORIAL TROPHY: For the film entered in Competition Number Eight which makes the best use of sound

10:    THE GREAVES BOWL: For the best film script or story (submitted in manuscript form) suitable for amateur production

 

A film may be entered into no more than one of the competitions 2 to 7 but, in addition to this entry, any film may be entered into Competition 8.

Entry in Competition 1 will not disqualify a film from entry in any other competition.
